Biggest order of the year
On January 7, the signing ceremony of the long-term FOB resource supporting LNG carrier project of CNOOC, which has attracted much attention from the industry, was successfully held in Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo, Japan, through the "cloud signing". Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., LTD., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China State Shipbuilding Trading Co., LTD., as joint sellers, signed a contract for the construction of six of the world's latest generation "Changheng Series" 174,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers with the buyer, Mitsui Merchant Marine Co., LTD.
This is the largest one-time LNG carrier order in the history of China's shipbuilding industry (7.5 billion) and the largest number of real ships (6). Hudong China's position as the "chain leader" of China's LNG industry chain is more consolidated, and the leading advantage is more obvious.

Chen Jun, General Manager of Hudong Zhonghua, and Wu Aijun, deputy general manager of China State Shipbuilding Trading Co., LTD., as the seller's representative, Kazuya Hamazaki, Executive officer of Mitsui Merchant Marine Co., LTD., as the buyer's representative, jointly signed the construction contract of six large LNG carriers of 174,000 m2; China Sea Petroleum and Gas Power Group as the charterer and the shipowner representatives signed the project ship charter contract at the ceremony.

Hudong Zhonghua has had good cooperation with CNOOC, Mitsui Merchant Marine Co., LTD., and COSCO Shipping in a number of LNG carrier construction projects, and has established a strategic partnership of mutual trust and mutual benefit.
The LNG carrier signed this contract is the fifth generation "Changheng series" LNG carrier independently developed by Hudong Zhonghua. The ship type is developed in accordance with the latest design concepts in the world today, adopts a new optimized high versatility shape, integrates the latest generation of double stern fin line, carries a number of low carbon and energy saving technologies, and has the following four highlights:
1 Fast performance, low comprehensive energy consumption.
By adopting Hudong Zhonghua fourth generation double stern fin line, the best match is achieved between reducing self-propelled resistance and improving propeller efficiency, and excellent coupling efficiency of propulsion chain is obtained. Through the experiments of several European pools, excellent sailing efficiency can be achieved in the medium and high speed segments. The single-day voyage reduces carbon emissions by more than 10 tons compared to the previous generation of ships.
2 Good low temperature performance, wide compatibility of cabin type, strong global versatility.
Designed with compatibility and versatility in mind, the vessel is equipped with the latest generation NO96 Super+ system, which reduces the evaporation rate by 15% compared to the previous generation L03+ system, and can reach 0.085%, providing a wider range of oil and gas equilibrium speed for low-carbon navigation. At the same time, the ship can reach 120 LNG shore stations on all continents in the world, with excellent global versatility.
3 The empty ship has light weight and strong cargo carrying capacity.
The whole ship adopts the integrated lightweight design concept, which optimizes the empty ship weight from multiple dimensions. Lighter and more compact than the previous generation, the ship has a higher cargo hold load rate and can carry an additional 800 cubic meters of LNG per voyage.
4. Skillful operation and maintenance, strong route matching.
The ship is equipped with a reliquefaction system with a capacity of 2.0 tons/hour, which can meet the different balanced utilization requirements of evaporative gas on different routes such as short-distance, mid-way and long-distance routes. The ship is economically efficient and can effectively meet the various operational requirements of diversified routes.
