Adora Magic City is well out of the dock!
On June 6, 2023, China's first domestic large cruise ship "Aida Modu", manufactured by China Shipbuilding Waigaoqiao Shipyard, left the dock and entered the dock commissioning stage.
The ship is 323.6 meters long, 37.2 meters wide and has a gross tonnage of 135,500 tons. It has 2,826 cabins and can accommodate up to 5,246 passengers. The 16-story superstructure living area, with theatres, specialty restaurants, shopping plazas, art corridors and other leisure facilities, is like a "city on the sea".
"Aida Modu" is expected to be delivered by the end of the year, marking that China will become the fifth country capable of manufacturing large cruise ships after Germany, France, Italy and Finland.
The first ship to be undertaken after the establishment of Waigaoqiao Base has finally come to an end, and the next base will usher in more opportunities.
